Common questions
Where do I get a share code?
On GOV.UK, by signing in to your UKVI account at View and prove your immigration status. Choose why you need the code (work, renting or something else), then copy it and paste it into the app.
How long does a share code last?
GOV.UK sets each code's end date. The app counts the days to it from the date you enter, and warns you when a code has 14 days or fewer left. A code still works on its last day.
Can the app get or renew a code for me?
No. Only GOV.UK can make a share code. When a code is ending, the app takes you to the right GOV.UK page.
I've got a new phone. Where are my codes?
Your codes are encrypted on your old iPhone and aren't included in backups, so they don't move across by themselves. Get new codes on GOV.UK and paste them into the app on your new phone.
I bought Plus. How do I get it back?
Open the Plus screen in the app and tap Restore. Use the same Apple Account you bought it with.
How do I cancel Plus?
Plus is managed by Apple. On your iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, or go to your App Store subscriptions. You keep Plus until the end of the period you paid for.
How do I ask for a refund?
Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
I can't get past the Face ID lock.
Tap Unlock and use your iPhone passcode instead. You can turn the lock off in the app's More screen.
Can you tell me if I qualify for settlement or citizenship?
No. The app counts days and shows what you entered, with links to the GOV.UK guidance, but it can't give immigration advice. For advice about your situation, find a regulated immigration adviser.
